Guillaume Patry. Picture it. You're the number one player in the world, no one can figure you out, you do more than dodge bullets, you pick them out of the air with your fingertips and throw them back. You're unstoppable and you're the first of your kind. You become a legend in your time. The year is 2000 and Guillaume "Grrr..." Patry is the first foreign professional gamer in the world, sponsored by AMD and a celebrity in Korea. But what do you after all of that, when you've already accomplished more than most people will in their entire life? This hasn't been a hypothetical question for Guillaume who, along with many of the early foreign pro-gamers, switched over and found success in online poker. And while the type of success that he has had in poker comes easy, that drive to be number one again hasn't left him. Ask Guillaume about anything related to poker and you find that nothing escapes his mind, so making 10k a month grinding without rakeback isn't anything special. But it's an easy trap to fall into, especially when it comes so easy.
When Guillaume does focus and is passionate about something, you look at him and you realize that you're just a mere mortal. I'm not exaggerating. Heroes are heroes not because they started perfect, but because they can overcome imperfections, show heart when others can't, and have a strong enough will to go the distance.
Guillaume really has nothing to prove here. He may not have official results on par with some others, it's a well-known fact that the really brilliant tend not to realize their full potential, and nothing could be more true for Guillaume. Being an online pro for Hero Poker represents his desire to put himself out there for the first time in a long time and say, "it's not enough to be good, it's time to be the best, and it's time to redefine that."
