Grant Levy. I was there when Grant won the first APPT Grand Final in Sydney back in 2007. At the time, I was the senior manager and I was just enjoying the show as Australia is a much tamer market than the rest of the Asia Pacific. Fast forward to 2011. I'm at the Aussie Millions for the launch of Hero Poker, and I'm the CEO. I'm not completely familiar with what goes on in Australia, but I know a lot of people who are. The one person I know very well and trust is the editor of Bluff Australia, Sean Callander, so I asked him. If I was going to pick someone who really could represent Australia players besides Joe Hachem, who would that be? He snap answers, "Grant Levy.".

Grant isn't your typical pro. He posts on forums, he has opinions, and he is a family man. He still hangs out with his buddies and no one can accuse him of playing the prima dona; he is the guy you want to have as a close mate. At the tables though, he's got the skills, he is the real deal. He isn't all about having his name in the spotlight, what he cares about is growing and supporting the poker community.

When I approached him in late February of 2011, I told him, "we can't offer you what you're used to, but if you're willing to take a risk, then we can grow together". After some thought, he said, "I'm going to take this on faith, on my gut instincts, let's go for it and make a site for the people, if we can go out there and really be part of the poker community, then I'm in."
